The black-bellied whistling duck is native to tropical regions in the Americas. Their bright red bill and black belly feathers make them relatively easy to identify.

Making them even easier to identify is the whistling vocalization they make. Instead of a quack or honk, these ducks make a higher-pitched call that sounds close to a whistle or even the tweet of smaller birds.
Black-bellied whistlers are ducks to listen out for as much as they are ducks to look out for if you live in their region.
